Open Question: How to Maintain the "Moist" in Moist Cookies?

I recently baked 'moist cookies' using a simple recipe; it came out wonderfully, but after cooling on the rack for a few minutes, the edges started to harden. I couldn't put it in a box yet because they were still too hot, but when the cookies were cooled, the moisture had evaporated.
